Short description
Fifty Acres is a first-person homestead game played in the browser. Start on April 1st with fifty wooded acres, a tent and your savings. Fell trees and split firewood, build a cabin from plans, grow and raise food, and set up solar, batteries and a well before January, with real prices, real climate normals and real kilowatt-hours. Your neighbor Walt has opinions.
Long description
Fifty Acres is a first-person off-grid homestead game that runs free in any modern browser, on desktop or phone. You arrive in northeastern Pennsylvania on April 1st with fifty acres of dense forest, a tent and your savings, and one question: will your batteries, your woodpile and your well get you through January?
Clear the land tree by tree, buck and split firewood, and mill your own lumber. Build sheds, barns and cabins piece by piece from plans, then tend a woodstove through the winter. Plant 54 crops, raise chickens and 14 kinds of livestock, hunt a living deer herd, fish for ten Pennsylvania species, and drive into town to buy supplies and sell your eggs and firewood. Walt, the retired lineman down the road, runs a 13-lesson training ground for newcomers.
After the first winter, every valley gets its own Hollow: a different set of oddities, secrets, festivals and silly recipes, shared by everyone who plays there. Start a valley with friends, visit their homesteads, or work on one together, live.
